Training & Professional Requirements for Nursing Assistants Who Will be Performing Delegated Tasks
Laws determine what training and professional requirements you need to perform a delegated task. Read the state rules.
In summary, you need to:
- Be a Nursing Assistant Registered (NAR) or Nursing Assistant Certified (NAC) in Washington State with a current license in good standing without restriction.
- Successfully complete the Nurse Delegation for Nursing Assistants Self Study training from an approved instructor. Find a community educator for this course.
- Be willing to perform the task as delegated by the Registered Nurse Delegator.
NARs are also required to complete the Revised Fundamentals of Caregiving class before performing a delegated task.
NAC’s do not have to complete Modified Fundamentals of Caregiving Self Study before performing a delegated task.
