Collaborative Team Members
Randy Burge
Randy is the Regional Administrator in the Division of Developmental Disabilities in Region 3. He has been in this position for the past eight years. Prior to that, he was the Field Services Administrator and Resource Management Supervisor in the Region. Randy brings over 20 years of experience working in the field of Developmental Disabilities.
Troy Christensen
Troy works for Pierce County Human Services Regional Support Network, where he specializes in maintaining and developing housing options for adults with mental illness, and community planning for residents of Washington State Hospital. He chairs the leadership team for the Tacoma/Pierce County 10-Year Plan to End Homelessness, and works closely with Pierce County Community Services and the Tacoma Human Rights and Human Services Division. In addition to his work in the public sector, Troy serves on the Board of Directors for several local non-profits, including the Lakewood Area Shelter Association and the Rainbow Center of Pierce County.
Claudia Driscoll
Claudia has served on numerous political and service based committees during the course of her life and is committed to seeing the development of options for individuals to live as independently as their health allows. Claudia has physical disabilities due to Multiple Sclerosis. She recently moved from a skilled nursing facility in King County, where she served on the Nursing Home Resident’s Council, to an Adult Family Home in Shoreline, WA.
Rob Honan
Rob has been involved in the disability rights movement for over 15 years as a participant of Center for Independent Living Services, a board member, and a director of a CIL in Missouri. He currently lives in Olympia and works for the State of Washington as the Executive Director of the State Independent Living Council (SILC).
Sharon Jodock-King
Born in Washington State, Sharon spent much of her childhood living in a hospital ward for children with disabilities before spending most of the next 30 years living in three different Washington State institutions, including Rainier School, the Interlake Nursing Home in Bellevue and the United Cerebral Palsy Center in Seattle. She moved from the UCP Center in 1986 and has lived on her own in Seattle with her husband Alan since that time. Sharon was honored as the first ever recipient of the lifetime achievement award from Washington People First, having been active as a founding member since it's inception. Among her many other accomplishments, Sharon earned an AA degree in general studies from a Seattle area community college in the 1970's and has served on multiple boards, including Washington Protection & Advocacy, the Developmental Disabilities Planning Council, Provail, the Neglect and Abuse committee and her local church council. She is also an artist, having sold many paintiings over the years.
Nancy Kelly
Nancy is an MSW employed at CORD (Coalition of Responsible Disabled), Eastern Washington’s Independent Living Center. Nan lives in Spokane, and also works as an independent provider (IP) for a woman with cerebral palsy. Nan has multiple disabilities stemming from a childhood brain injury and uses a service dog for mobility support. She has received services through the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation as well as Home and Community Services and the mental health system
Sally Nixon
Sally Nixon is the Manager of Pierce County Aging and Long Term Care. She has been with Pierce County for 18 years and was a Planner prior to becoming Manager in 1998. Pierce County ALTC is one of 13 Area Agencies on Aging in Washington. The agency is responsible for administering federal and state funds that are targeted for elders and individuals with functional disabilities and contracts with over 30 local agencies. ALTC also provides some services directly – Case Management, Aging and Disability Resources, Family Caregiver Support and Long Term Care Ombudsman Program. Sally received her Master’s is Social Work and a Certificate in Aging from the University of Washington.
Gretchen Thatcher
Gretchen works as a Nursing Home Transition Coordinator for Central Washington Disability Resources Independent Living Center. She lives in Ellensberg and is a member of and group facilitator for the Central Washington Advocacy Coalition, a disability advocacy group which does ADA evaluations of downtown businesses as well as other group projects. She also serves on the Steering Committee for PAS-Port for Change. Gretchen has a spinal cord injury which resulted in her being a quadriplegic from birth, and has received Home and Community Services for the last nineteen years.
Lenora Warden
Lenora works with the Department of Vocational Services, and serves on the faculty for the International Center for Clubhouse Development. She has served on the Governor’s Transformation Grant Subcommittee for Homelessness and is currently a member of the Mental Health Planning and Advisory Council. Lenora lives in Tacoma and is a senior citizen and peer advocate who has lived with a mental illness for over 30 years over the course of which she has received inpatient, residential, and day services through the public mental health system.
David Williams
Born on Halloween in 1962, David is a 44 year old man with a great personality and wonderful sense of humor who was diagnosed as having Prader Willi Syndrome when he was in pre-school, as a small child. (David’s was the 36th known case of this condition in the United States at the time.) He grew up and lived with his family before moving to a couple of different group homes in Washington State and then eventually to Rainier School in 1987 where he lived for the next 15 years. In August of 2002, David moved from Rainier School into his own apartment in Kirkland, Washington, where he has lived successfully ever since. David currently works at two different volunteer jobs 2-3 days/week and is hoping to become gainfully employed in the near future.
Josselyn Winslow
Josselyn has served on a variety of Long-term Care state level committees, as well as the Governors Committee on Disability Issues and Employment. She currently resides in Bellingham, is the Volunteer Director for the Alzheimer Society of Washington, and has served on the Mental Health Planning Council’s Older Adults Treatment and Services sub-committee. Josselyn is an advocate for older adults and for people with mental disorders, including dementia. She was a caregiver for her mother who had dementia and received adult day care services, and lived her last two years in a nursing home.
Serena Antioquia
Serena is the Senior Citizen Coordinator in the Elders Program of the Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe in Port Angeles.
Marian Monas
Marian is currently the Acting Regional Administrator for Region 3 Home and Community Services, ADSA/DSHS, and has over 25 years experience working in social services, for the State of Washington and in the private sector with a community mental health agency. She has been a Deputy Regional Administrator and a Program Manager for HCS Region 3, managing the ECS program and providing liaison work with the local RSN, and was a Program Manager in Children’s Administration, managing Behavioral Rehabilitations Services, Independent Living Services and Family Reconciliations Services.
