MDS TRAINING – REGION 1
Dear Nursing Facility/Home Administrator:
This letter contains important information for facility staff responsible for completing the Minimum Data Set (MDS) assessments.
Residential Care Services will be providing a one-day training session on RAPS and Care Planning this spring. The target audience for the spring session is any staff involved in the RAP and Care Planning process
RCS will also offer a two-day MDS 101 training session this fall. The target audience for the fall session is facility staff who are new to the MDS process or those who have not attended any MDS training sessions. This course is basic in nature and will cover MDS coding, error correction and completion of tracking forms.
The training sessions are scheduled as follows:
Spring 2006 (RAP & Care Planning)
Date: Tuesday, April 4, 2006
Hours: 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Location: Sacred Heart Medical Center
20 W 9th Avenue, Spokane
Providence Auditorium
Summer 2006
(Pre-registration is required for this session as space is limited.)
Date: Monday and Tuesday, June 19 and 20, 2006
Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Location: RCS Headquarters, Blake East,
4500 10th Ave. SE, Lacey
Rose Room
Fall 2006 (MDS 101)
Date: Wednesday and Thursday, October 11 and 12, 2006
Hours: 8:30 am to 4:00 p.m.
Location: Sacred Heart Medical Center

ALL SESSIONS
- The trainings are free of charge.
- Registration will begin ½ hour prior to listed starting time.
- Parking is free on the upper level lot on a first-come, first-served basis with paid parking on the street.
- Coffee/food will not be provided, however a cafeteria is on site.
- Attendees are encouraged to bring their RAI/MDS manual.
- A map to the location is enclosed and also accessible on the ADSA website.
