Re: 2001 Medicaid Revenue and Census Report

Dear Nursing Home Administrator:

Please share the enclosed Medicaid Revenue and Census (MRC) report with whoever completes your 2001 Medicaid Nursing Facility Cost Report form. Use of this MRC report is optional. The MRC report is provided for your convenience.

If you wish, this report may be used to complete Schedules M and M-1 of your Cost Report. These schedules show Medicaid days and Medicaid interim payments for 2001. Schedule M-1 is an optional schedule that can be prepared by summarizing all remittance advices received during 2001. Instead of summarizing all 2001 remittance advices on Schedule M-1, you may choose to use the enclosed Medicaid Revenue and Census report plus your February and March 2001 remittance advices. The Medicaid Revenue and Census report reflects Medicaid days and payments shown on remittance advices sent to you up through January 31, 2001. If you add to those days and payments the amounts reflected on remittance advices you received between February 1, 2001 and the time you send in your cost report, Schedule M-1 will be complete to date.

As stated in a Dear Administrator letter dated February 4, 1994, the enclosed Medicaid Revenue and Census report will be the only reconciliation report mailed. The department will no longer routinely mail the large Medicaid Management Information System report (also known as the MMIS report). If you feel that you need a copy of the 2001 MMIS for your facility, please call Linda Herrera at (360) 725-2498. The cost of the detailed MMIS report will be $40 per report. The report will take approximately 30 to 45 days to produce.

Thank you for your continued cooperation. If you have any questions, please call your assigned analyst. If you do not know your assigned analyst, please call (360) 725-2498.

Sincerely,

Tom Kearns, Chief
Office of Rates Management
