Trainings will be held at the AASA Headquarters Building, 1st floor training room (1-7.1 & 1-7.2), 640 Woodland Square Loop SE, Lacey.

Purpose of Training

The purpose of the HCS/AAA Case Management and Program Training is to give employees hands-on training on assessment, program eligibility, and other topics crucial to performing their jobs.  The training gives a uniform, statewide presentation of AASA mission, goals and policies.  Financial workers attend day one of the training, which gives a ‘big picture’ presentation of AASA, relationships between the divisions and with other DSHS agencies.  The first day topics include a presentation on the Area Agencies on Aging, basic ethics, and mandatory reporting.

Target Audience

Appropriate participants are HCS social workers, community nurse consultants, and financial workers; AAA case managers, and nurses that case manage.  HCS financial staff attend the first day only.  Priority is given as follows:

  1. New employees with one month of experience;
  2. Employees that supervisors feel would benefit from the training.

The training uses interactive methods and is more effective if the audience is kept to a reasonable number.  The maximum number of slots available is 20.

Registration

Please register your staff on-line at www.pware.com/2697.  To eliminate duplicate names in the database, it is important to: 1) enter the person’s name in upper and lower case, e.g. Barbara Hanneman; 2) enter the person’s administration in the Company box, e.g. Home and Community Services Region 6 or Olympic Area Agency on Aging; 3) enter the person’s office in the Department box, e.g. Port Angeles.

Please nominate one participant and three alternate participants per Region or PSA for each training.  In addition, HCS may name a participant and an alternate from financial staff to attend one day only.  To register alternates, please mark the alternate box yes and complete all required registration items.

All registrants will receive an email message to confirm receipt of the on-line registration.  Those approved for training will also receive a confirmation, with an agenda; map and parking permit as attachments, prior to the training.

Registration on-line should be completed at least two weeks in advance of the first day of training.  Due to the high demand for these slots, unclaimed slots will be released to alternates after this time.

For any reasonable accommodations, notify Barbara Hanneman one week before the training.
