MANAGEMENT BULLETIN
TO: Area Agency on Aging (AAA)
Directors
Home and Community
Services Regional Administrators
SUBJECT: COMMENT PERIOD ON CLIENT FILE REVIEW
QUESTIONS:
THESE QUESTIONS WILL BE USED
TO COMPLY WITH
Meetings
were held with each Home and Community Services (HCS) and Area Agency on Aging
(AAA) region in the spring of 2001 to discuss Aging and Disability Services
Administrations (AASA’s) proposed Quality Assurance (QA) program. The QA program will be implemented statewide
across the HCS and AAA systems to assure coordination and consistency in
2002. Part of the QA program entails a
standardized tool for use when supervisors perform required client file
reviews. A list of these client file
review questions were distributed at the QA meetings held in the spring. AASA monitoring teams used these questions
during their 2001 site reviews of AAA and HCS regions. When all of the site visits were completed,
the monitoring teams made the revisions you will see on the attached list of
questions. The questions are based upon
current requirements in RCW, WAC, department policy and protocols issued by the
Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (formerly HCFA).
AASA
is looking for your feedback on the revised questions. Keep in mind that these questions will be
part of a QA database that each HCS and AAA Supervisor/Program Manager will use
when performing required client file reviews.
Specific information on expectations for the number of files supervisors
will review annually will be outlined in a new QA Long Term Care Manual chapter
that will go out for comment later this year.
AASA will provide training to those expected to use the monitoring tool
prior to implementation.
