BARCODE IMPLEMENTATION PLAN

AASA technical staff are moving forward with implementing BarCode in all AAA and subcontractor offices that handle client files.  Thank you for providing them with the information on the staff, equipment, and location of all of your offices so they could begin this process.  Full implementation has been postponed until May to allow for more thorough pilot testing, which will begin April 1.  See Attachment 1, “BarCode File Tracking System:  AAA Implementation Plan” for more details.

INFORMATION FOR PURCHASING EQUIPMENT FOR BARCODE

The next step essential for successful implementation is for AAAs to purchase the equipment they’ll need to use BarCode.  AASA can only support the equipment listed below for use with BarCode.  To ensure that the equipment is on-site when the AASA technical staff come for installation and training, please purchase and have it delivered to all sites identified in Attachment 2 by April 1, 2001.

Dot Matrix Printer:  Epson LQ-570e #C293001                        $249.90 + tax/shipping

If you already have a method for procuring this particular equipment you may, of course, use that method. Otherwise, to purchase the printer, you may contact Beverly Boyd at the State of Washington, Department of Information Services (DIS), Brokering and Leasing Office (see below).  If your AAA does not already have an account with DIS, you will need to set one up with Beverly Boyd.  Most county governments have accounts with DIS, but you may not have the ability to purchase directly from DIS through the county account.  Call or e-mail Beverly to find out your account status for this purchase.  This account also allows you to purchase/lease other computer equipment at the discounted state-negotiated rates.
