Washington State is honoring older adults in our state with the celebration of Older Americans Month in May 2008. Governor Gregoire has signed a proclamation (PDF) to acknowledge this year’s theme "Working Together for Strong, Healthy, and Supportive Communities."

Aging and Disability Services Administration (ADSA) in collaboration with the Department of Health (DOH) is celebrating May with the expansion of a program to educate older adults, caregivers, physicians, and community agencies working with older adults on fall prevention. ADSA and DOH are working with the Retired Senior and Volunteer Program (RSVP) to establish community networks for distributing education materials and linking community services.
