Training Classes & Requirements - Individual Providers
Signing Up for LTC Worker Training
All IPs are represented by the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Healthcare 775 NW. All IPs are required to complete training through the Training Partnership. See the chart below for what training is required and when.

If you do not meet any required training deadlines
Your payment to provide personal care is terminated if you do not meet training deadlines. To be reinstated (paid again as an IP), on your own and at your own expense, you must:
- Complete all required training through a DSHS community instructor. Find a Community Instructor.
- Become certified as a home care aide, if required (Option E from the Training Partnership Training Wizard).
IPs needing continuing education (CE) because they have missed their CE training deadline may also get CE hours by attending approved conferences.See a list of conferences approved for use as CE.
Home Care Aide (HCA) Certification
All LTC workers required to take 75 hours of basic training must become a certified home care aide within 150 days of their service begin date.

IP Training Requirements
The following chart includes the training required for IPs.

| Exempt IPs IPs who worked between 1/1/2011 - 1/6/2012 as a LTC worker either as an IP or in a private or Medicaid contracted Home Care Agency, AFH, or BH, and have completed the basic training required in that setting at their point of hire. |

| IP Limited Service Provider IP who works for only one client who is not their biological, step or adoptive adult child or parent and is authorized for 20 hours or less per month. Note: IPs whose hours go above 20 or start working for another client become a Standard IP (see above). When this happens, the IP has 120 days to complete 70 hours of basic training and 150 days from service begin date of increase hours to complete certification. |
