Spring 2008 MDS training for NH staff in Washington State
Background:
- State agencies are required by CMS to conduct MDS provider training.
- Training is provided free of charge, however no beverages, snacks or meals will be available and are the responsibility of the attendee.
What’s New:
There will be two separate Spring 2008 MDS training courses.
The first series will be two days in length and cover the basic MDS coding, “The ABC’s of MDS”. This class is intended for staff new to the MDS process or those staff who need a refresher. The sessions run from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm both days; dates and locations are as follows:
- Session 1: March 27 & 28
- Session 2: May 28 & 29
Both sessions will be held at RCS Headquarters, Blake East Building
4500 10th Ave SE, Lacey in the Rose Room
The second MDS series will be one day in length and will cover “Restorative Nursing and the MDS”. This session runs from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm and will be held on the following dates and locations by region:
- Region 1: Friday, April 11 - Sacred Heart Hospital Auditorium, Spokane
- Region 2: Thursday, April 3 - Yakima Valley Museum, Centennial Ballroom
- Region 3: Tuesday, April 29 - Providence Everett Medical Center, Providence AB Room
- Region 4: Wednesday, April 9 - Criminal Justice Center, Cascade Auditorium, Burien
- Regions 5 & 6: Two offerings: Thursday, April 17; and again Friday, May 2
Both sessions will be held at ADSA HQ (Charles Reed Bldg) Training Rm 1-7.1
Maps and/or directions to the training site are included in the NH Administrator letters (see below).
Action:
- Bring your MDS manual to the training.
- You must pre-register, as class space is limited at all locations.
