Family Caregiver Support Program – Helping Family Caregivers in WA State

Relatives as Parents/Kinship Caregivers

The Washington State Kinship Caregivers Support Program (KCSP) provides financial assistance to eligible kinship families to help with the cost of much needed supplies and services.

Included in this 81 page booklet is information on special issues facing children in kinship care, financial assistance, legal and custody issues, child care and educational needs, coping strategies, national and local community services, plus much more.

A new law passed by the 2005 Washington State legislature allows adults raising a relative's child to consent to health care.  This brochure explains a relative's rights and responsibilities under the new law.
